Averting Maternal Deaths and Disability (AMDD)

 

Gates Foundation

 

AMDD works to improve availability, quality and utilisation of EmOC. The programme has three inter-linked strands: technical assistance for EmOC, management capacity building and human rights.

Maternal and Neonatal Health Programme (MNH)

 

USAID

 

MNH provides TA and globally leadership to increase access to and demand for appropriate maternal and neonatal health care. The programme has three components: clinical services, behaviour change interventions and policy development.

Making Pregnancy Safer Initiative (MSP)

 

WHO

 

MPS has been launched to re-focus WHO's strategies in MMRD. The focus is on evidence-based interventions, health systems strengthening and identifying community level actions to improve access to care.

Mother Infant Research Activities (MIRA), Nepal was established in 1992 to develop appropriate and cost-effective interventions to improve mother and infant health in poor communities. Projects undertaken include developing cost-effective methods to reduce birth asphyxia, improve the nutritional status of pregnant mothers and babies, and changing behaviours through effective health promotion.
